Srinagar, June 25, KNT: A mild earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale struck Pulwama district in south Kashmir during the early hours of Thursday, officials said.
According to the National Centre for Seismology, the earthquake occurred at 2:36:49 am (IST) with its epicentre located at latitude 33.913° North and longitude 75.095° East. The quake originated at a depth of 15 kilometres beneath the surface.
The National Centre reviewed the seismic event for Seismology.
Mild tremors were reportedly felt in parts of Pulwama and adjoining areas. However, there were no immediate reports of any loss of life, injuries or damage to property. [KNT]
