Kupwara, June 22, KNT: A four-year-old girl died after accidentally falling into a water tub in the Renan Kralgund area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Sibra Javid (4), daughter of Javid Iqbal Lone, a resident of Fatehgarh Baramulla.
Officials said the minor fell into the water tank during the afternoon hours while playing near her residence in Renan Kralgund.
Following the incident, family members rushed to the spot, retrieved the child from the tub and shifted her to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for treatment.
However, doctors at the hospital declared her dead on arrival, officials said.
The incident has left the family in shock and mourning.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated the necessary proceedings. [KNT]
