Qazigund, April 28, KNT: A minor girl injured in a road accident in the Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district has succumbed to her injuries at SKIMS Soura, officials said on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Fatima Jan, daughter of Mohammad Altaf Parray, a resident of Shampora Qazigund. She was critically injured after an i20 car hit three school students on the Kulbagh–Qazi Mohalla Link Road on Monday afternoon.

The incident, which initially left three girls injured, turned fatal after Fatima Jan failed to recover from her injuries at the Srinagar-based tertiary care hospital.

The two other injured students, Tahmeena Jan and Aliya Jan, are undergoing treatment and have sustained minor injuries, reports said.

Police had registered a case under FIR No. 102/2026 at Police Station Qazigund soon after the incident. The accused driver, who had fled from the scene, was arrested within an hour, officials said.
