England Inflicts Second Consecutive T20 Whitewash on India

England completed a comprehensive 3-0 whitewash over India in the three-match T20 International series after registering a convincing nine-wicket victory in the third and final match, handing the visitors their second successive series whitewash.
The defeat comes close on the heels of India’s 3-0 series loss to Ireland, making it two consecutive T20I series in which the side has failed to win a single match.
Batting first, India posted 158 for seven, with captain Shreyas Iyer producing a fighting unbeaten 80 after the top order failed to make an impact. England’s bowling attack kept the Indian batters under pressure throughout the innings.
In reply, England made light work of the target, racing to 159 for one in just 13.5 overs. Phil Salt struck an unbeaten 59, while skipper Harry Brook remained unbeaten on 79 as the duo stitched together an unbroken 146-run partnership for the second wicket to seal victory with 37 balls to spare.
The latest defeat extends India’s losing streak in T20 Internationals to five matches and underlines England’s dominance throughout the series. The hosts won the opening match comfortably before crushing India by 125 runs in the second T20 — India’s heaviest defeat in T20 International history — before completing the clean sweep in the final game.
England’s emphatic series triumph marks their first-ever T20 International series victory over India and further strengthens their position as one of the world’s leading white-ball sides. According to reports, another victory in their next T20I could see England replace the reigning world champions as the top-ranked T20I team.
Meanwhile, India’s disappointing tour continues after suffering back-to-back T20 series whitewashes, first against Ireland and now against England, raising fresh questions over the team’s form ahead of upcoming international assignments.
