LG Reviews Yatra Arrangements at Bhagwati Nagar, Says Pilgrim Comfort Top Priority

Jammu, July 15, KNT: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday visited the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas in Jammu to review the facilities and arrangements put in place for the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, which has witnessed more than three lakh pilgrims in the first 12 days.
During the visit, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with officials of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, Central Armed Police Forces, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board and the civil administration, and reviewed the measures taken to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
He took stock of accommodation, security, transportation and other essential facilities being provided to pilgrims at the base camp before their onward journey to the holy cave shrine.
Appreciating the efforts of the personnel engaged in the Yatra, Sinha commended their dedication and urged them to continue working in close coordination to ensure a comfortable and hassle-free experience for devotees.
“With the holy pilgrimage already crossing the three lakh mark in just 12 days, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free experience for pilgrims is our top priority,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He also urged officials to treat every pilgrim as a “divine guest” and ensure that all necessary services are delivered efficiently throughout the pilgrimage.
The annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra commenced earlier this month amid multi-layered security arrangements and enhanced logistical support across both the traditional Pahalgam route in south Kashmir and the shorter Baltal route in central Kashmir. [KNT]
