Srinagar, July 21, KNT: The Haj Committee of India has extended the deadline for submission of online applications for Haj pilgrimage to July 24, providing aspiring pilgrims with additional time to complete the registration process.

Chief Executive Officer of the Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee, Dr. Shujat Ahmad Qureshi, said nearly 3,800 applications had been received from Jammu and Kashmir so far and expressed hope that the extension would encourage more eligible pilgrims to apply.

Speaking to KNT, Dr. Qureshi said the number of applications had been steadily increasing over the past few days and expected the revised deadline to further improve the response from the Union Territory.

He urged intending pilgrims who had not yet submitted their applications to make use of the extended window and complete the online registration well before the closing date to avoid last-minute inconvenience.

The Haj Committee has also advised applicants to ensure that all required documents are uploaded correctly and that the information furnished during the application process is accurate to facilitate smooth processing of their applications.

The CEO said the extension was granted to enable more eligible pilgrims from across the country to register for the annual pilgrimage.

He appealed to prospective pilgrims to seek assistance from designated Haj facilitation centres in case of any difficulty during the online application process. [KNT]
