Srinagar, July 27, KNT: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said the Jammu and Kashmir Government will soon send the revised draft of the proposed Transaction of Business Rules to the Government of India after incorporating the changes suggested by the Centre.
Speaking to reporters, Omar Abdullah said the elected government had earlier submitted a proposal on the Business Rules to the Government of India, which was returned with certain observations and suggested amendments.
“We had sent a Business Rules proposal to the Government of India. They sought certain changes and returned it to us,” the Chief Minister said.
He said the government has already incorporated the suggested changes into the revised draft.
“We made those changes, but before formally sending the revised draft back to the Government of India, we thought it appropriate to share a copy informally with the Lieutenant Governor’s office,” Omar Abdullah said.
The Chief Minister, however, said no response had been received from the Raj Bhavan.
“Unfortunately, there has been no response from the Lieutenant Governor’s office,” he remarked.
Omar Abdullah said the government would wait for another week to ten days before forwarding the revised Business Rules to the Centre.
“Now we will wait for a week or ten days. After that, we will send the edited draft again to the Government of India,” he said.
The proposed Transaction of Business Rules is expected to lay down the framework governing the functioning of the elected government under the Union Territory administration and define the procedure for the transaction of official business. [KNT]
