Body Found Floating in Canal Triggers Police Investigation in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 31, KNT: An unidentified body was recovered from a water canal in the Baba Demb area of Srinagar on Thursday morning, triggering a police investigation.

According to eyewitnesses, the body was found floating in the canal wrapped inside a bathtub, following which local residents alerted the police.

Soon after receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and secured the area. Officials examined the scene while awaiting the arrival of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to carry out scientific examination.

Police shifted the body for medico-legal formalities and launched an investigation to establish the identity of the deceased and ascertain the circumstances leading to the death.
