Srinagar, Aug 8, KNT: The Meteorological Department has forecast a spell of heavy to very heavy rainfall across Jammu and Kashmir from Aug 9 to 11, warning of possible flash floods, landslides and waterlogging in vulnerable areas.

The forecast has raised concerns over road connectivity and movement along vulnerable stretches, particularly in areas already affected by recent rainfall and weather-related disruptions.

Authorities are expected to maintain close watch on flood-prone areas, water bodies and landslide-prone stretches during the period, while residents have been advised to remain cautious amid the possibility of sudden deterioration in weather conditions.

The forecast comes as several parts of Jammu and Kashmir have witnessed weather-related incidents in recent days, including flash floods and disruptions to road connectivity. [KNT]
