Two Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Pulwama, Bandipora

Srinagar, Aug 14, KNT: Two men were killed in separate road accidents in Pulwama and Bandipora districts on Friday, with one victim dying after being hit by an unidentified truck and another fatally struck by an auto.

In the first accident, a 65-year-old man was hit by an unidentified truck in Wuyan Khrew area of Pampore in Pulwama district.

The victim was identified as Mushtaq Ahmed Bhat, son of Suna Ullah, a resident of Wuyan Khrew.

He was shifted to Sub-District Hospital Pampore in critical condition and was subsequently referred to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar. However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated further investigation to ascertain the circumstances of the accident and trace the vehicle involved.

In the second accident, a 32-year-old man was fatally hit by an auto in the Dachigam area near DPL Bandipora.

The deceased was identified as Irfan Ahmad Bhat, son of Abdul Jabbar Bhat, a resident of Dachigam.

Following the accident, Irfan was shifted to District Hospital Bandipora, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police arrested the auto driver in connection with the incident and initiated further investigation.

The two accidents occurred at separate locations, with police investigations underway in both cases. [KNT]
