Sewang Tharchin Appointed Additional Director on J&K Bank Board
Srinagar, Sep 1, KNT: Sewang Tharchin, a 2007-batch officer of the Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS), has been appointed as an Additional Director in the category of Rotational Director on the Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Bank Limited.
Tharchin is presently serving as Commissioner Secretary, Finance Department, in the Union Territory of Ladakh, a position he assumed on July 6, 2026.
Before taking up the Ladakh Finance Department assignment, Tharchin served as Accountant General (Audit), Jammu and Kashmir, from November 6, 2025.
The appointment comes amid increased attention on the composition and functioning of the bank’s Board and its institutional relationship with Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. [KNT]
