CIK Conducts Search at Nadigam Residence in Shopian

Shopian, Sep 13, KNT: A team of the Criminal Investigation Department (CIK) on Sunday carried out a search operation at a residential house in Nadigam village of Shopian district as part of an ongoing investigation, officials said.

The search was conducted by a CIK team headed by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, with the operation continuing at the time of filing this report.

The residential premises being searched belong to Irfan Ahmad Ganie, son of late Ghulam Hassan Ganie, a resident of Nadigam, officials said.

The nature of the case in connection with which the search was conducted was not immediately clear. Officials also did not immediately disclose whether any documents, electronic devices or other material had been recovered during the operation.

The search forms part of the investigation being pursued by the CIK, and further action, if any, is expected to follow assessment of the material gathered during the operation.
