Thunderstorm activity likely in J&K on Sept 27-28, IMD forecasts
Srinagar, Sep 24, KNT: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience mainly dry weather from September 25 to 27, followed by thunderstorm and lightning activity on September 27 and 28, according to the latest India Meteorological Department forecast.
The IMD’s subdivision-wise warning bulletin issued on Thursday has forecast no warning for Jammu and Kashmir on September 25 and 26. Thunderstorm, lightning and squall activity has been indicated for September 27 and 28, while no warning has been issued for September 29 and 30.
The local forecast for Srinagar indicates mainly clear weather on September 25, 26 and 27, with partly cloudy conditions and the possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorm on September 28 and 29.
For Jammu city, the forecast indicates mainly clear skies from September 25 to 27, followed by partly cloudy conditions with the possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorm on September 28 and 29.
The IMD forecast indicates that the weather is likely to remain comparatively stable during the first part of the period, with the possibility of localized thunderstorm activity increasing toward September 27-28. [KNT]
