Budgam, Oct 9: KNT: Police personnel in Budgam district have been felicitated for exposing a fake employment syndicate and introducing a digital beat-policing system, with senior officers recognising their contribution to investigation, public service and technology-driven policing.

Inspector General of Police Kashmir Sujit K. Singh, IPS, distributed commendation certificates, appreciation letters and rewards to personnel of Budgam Police on Friday in the presence of Deputy Inspector General of Police, Central Kashmir Range, Rajiv Pandey, IPS.

Those recognised included Senior Superintendent of Police Budgam Hariprasad KK, SDPO Magam Ashrif Lissery, SHO Beerwah Mudassir Nassar and SHO Magam Khurshid Awan, besides 17 other police officials.

The team of Police Station Beerwah was commended for its role in exposing a fake employment syndicate, while Police Station Magam received appreciation for adopting the Digital Beat Policing System.

The recognition highlighted two aspects of district policing: investigation into alleged employment fraud and the use of digital tools to strengthen beat-level policing. While the Beerwah team was acknowledged for its investigative work, the Magam police station was recognised for adopting a technology-based system intended to support more efficient and citizen-focused policing.

The felicitation was aimed at acknowledging professional dedication and encouraging personnel to continue working towards public safety and improved policing services across the district. [KNT]
