First Wife Alleges Criminal Conspiracy, Files Case Against Singer Udit Narayan

Supaul, Feb 12, KNT: Veteran playback singer Udit Narayan has been named in a complaint filed by his first wife, Ranjana Narayan Jha, who has levelled serious allegations against him and others at the Women’s Police Station in Bihar’s Supaul district.
According to reports, the complaint was lodged on February 10. Ranjana has accused the singer, his two brothers and his second wife Deepa Narayan of involvement in an alleged criminal conspiracy that, she claims, resulted in her uterus being removed without her consent. She has stated that she became aware of the surgery years later during a medical examination.
In her complaint, Ranjana said she married Udit Narayan on December 7, 1984 in a traditional Hindu ceremony. She alleged that he moved to Mumbai in 1985 to pursue his music career and that she later came to know through media reports about his marriage to Deepa Narayan. She further claimed that whenever she confronted him, she was misled regarding his marital status.
There has been no official response from Udit Narayan or the other persons named in the complaint at the time of filing this report.
Police are understood to be examining the complaint in accordance with legal procedure. [KNT]
