Several Injured After Car Falls into Canal in Jammu, Minister Satish Sharma Assists in Rescue

Jammu, Feb 21, KNT: Several passengers, including two women, sustained critical injuries after a car plunged into a canal near Domana area of Jammu on Saturday.

Sources said the vehicle bearing registration number JK02AV-2247 lost control and fell into the adjoining canal, resulting in serious injuries to the occupants. Locals rushed to the spot soon after the mishap and initiated rescue efforts.

Coincidentally, the cavalcade of Cabinet Minister Satish Sharma was passing through the area at the time of the accident. Witnesses said the Minister, along with members of his team, immediately stopped and joined the rescue operation.

The injured persons were safely pulled out of the vehicle and shifted to hospital in private vehicles arranged on the spot. Their condition was stated to be critical at the time of evacuation.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway. [KNT]
