LG Reviews Security Situation in J&K, Appeals for Calm and Unity
West Asia Developments Being Closely Monitored, Says Manoj Sinha
Jammu, Mar 1, KNT: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday chaired a high-level meeting in Jammu to review the prevailing security situation across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir amid emerging regional developments.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat, senior civil and police officials, and all Deputy Commissioners and Senior Superintendents of Police.
During the review, the Lieutenant Governor emphasized that maintaining peace is a collective responsibility and appealed to all communities to uphold harmony. He lauded the coordinated efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir Police, security forces and civil administration in ensuring law and order across the UT.
“I urge all communities to remain calm and united in this hour. I salute the unwavering, synchronized resolve of our Police, security forces and civil administration upholding law and order,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He further stated that the government is closely monitoring the evolving situation in West Asia. Senior UT officials, he said, are in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safety and welfare of residents and students from Jammu and Kashmir currently in the region.
Officials said the administration remains alert and is reviewing preparedness measures to respond to any potential challenges arising from external developments. [KNT]
