New Zealand stormed into the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after defeating South Africa by nine wickets in the semifinal, riding on a blistering century by Finn Allen.

Batting first, South Africa posted 169 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs. However, the target proved insufficient as New Zealand chased it down in dominant fashion, reaching 173 for 1 in just 12.5 overs.

Allen produced a sensational batting display, smashing a 33-ball century which is being described as the fastest hundred in the history of the T20 World Cup. His aggressive knock dismantled the South African bowling attack and virtually sealed the outcome early in the chase.

New Zealand maintained a rapid scoring rate throughout the innings and wrapped up the match comfortably to secure a place in the tournament final.

With the victory, the Black Caps have advanced to the T20 World Cup final where they will face the winner of the second semifinal. [KNT]
