Jammu, March 27, KNT: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MLA Waheed Para has proposed district-level reorganisation along with the creation of new administrative divisions such as Pir Panjal and Chenab, aimed at bringing governance closer to people in remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Para told reporters in Jammu that the reorganization should follow a phased and needs-based approach to ensure effective governance and improved service delivery.
He called for the establishment of new administrative hubs in areas including Doda, Kishtwar, Tangdhar, Sopore, Bhaderwah, Gul-Gulabgarh and Mahore.
According to Para, decentralising administrative structures would help address regional disparities and reduce the burden on existing centres.
The proposal seeks to strengthen governance outreach in geographically challenging areas, particularly in the Pir Panjal and Chenab Valley regions.
Para emphasised that improved administrative presence would enhance delivery of essential services and make governance more responsive to local needs. [KNT]
