Two BSF personnel injured in alleged assault by locals in J&K’S Samba

Jammu, March 30, KNT: Two personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) were injured after they were allegedly assaulted by a group of locals in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, officials said.

The incident occurred in Gujjar Basti Dwarkapuri in the Supwal area when the two personnel, an inspector and a sub-inspector, had gone to the locality in connection with an investigation, officials said.

They said a group of locals attacked the two officers, leaving them injured.

The injured personnel were shifted to a nearby medical facility for treatment, officials added.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the assault, they said.

Further details regarding the motive behind the attack and the number of people involved were not immediately available.

The Samba district, located along the International Border, remains a sensitive region with frequent security-related activity.
