Jammu, Dec 15, KNT: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday filed a chargesheet against seven accused, including Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and its offshoot The Resistance Front (TRF), in connection with the April 2025 Pahalgam incident that left 26 people dead.
The chargesheet, running into 1,597 pages, was presented before the NIA Special Court in Jammu and outlines what the agency described as a detailed account of the alleged conspiracy, roles of the accused, and evidence gathered during the investigation.
In a significant development, the NIA has named LeT and TRF as entities in the case, alleging their involvement in planning and facilitating the incident.
According to the agency, the attack involved targeted killings, and it has named Pakistan-based handler Sajid Jatt as an accused, alleging he coordinated the operation from across the border.

The chargesheet also includes details of three foreign militants who were later killed during an operation in the Dachigam area of Srinagar in July 2025. They have been identified as Faisal Jatt alias Suleman Shah, Habeeb Tahir alias Jibran, and Hamza Afghani.
The NIA said the accused and the organizations have been booked under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, the Arms Act, and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), including sections related to waging war against India.
The agency said its investigation, conducted over nearly eight months, involved technical and scientific analysis that traced the alleged conspiracy beyond India’s borders.
Two local accused, Parvaiz Ahmad and Bashir Ahmad Jothatd, arrested in June 2025, have also been chargesheeted for allegedly providing support to the attackers.
According to the NIA, the accused disclosed details during questioning that helped identify the foreign militants involved in the incident.
The agency said further investigation is ongoing to identify additional links and individuals connected to the case. KNT]
