Anantnag, April 25, KNT: The All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA) has welcomed the swift police action in connection with the assault on a doctor in Anantnag, stating that four accused persons have been arrested and a formal case registered.

Vice President of AIMSA, Dr Mohammad Momin Khan, expressed gratitude to Senior Superintendent of Police Amod Ashok Nagpure for what he described as a prompt and commendable response to the incident.

According to Dr. Khan, FIR No. 118 has been registered under the leadership of SSP Nagpure, leading to the arrest of four individuals allegedly involved in the attack on the doctor.

Notably, agitated family allegedly created hue and cry accusing doctors at GMC Anantnag of negligence after a 55-year old female patient died in the hospital.

Dr. Khan said the quick legal response has sent a clear message that violence against doctors will not be tolerated and that those responsible will be held accountable under the law.

“The swift action taken in this case reinforces confidence among healthcare workers that their safety is being taken seriously,” he said.

AIMSA also appreciated the professionalism displayed by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in handling the matter and urged authorities to ensure continued protection for doctors and medical staff across the region.  [KNT]
