Six Houses Gutted in Anantnag Fire, Families Left Homeless

Anantnag, April 29, KNT: At least six residential houses were destroyed in a fire incident in Halse Dar area of Trajan in Doru locality of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday late night, leaving several families homeless.

Officials said the blaze broke out in the locality and quickly spread, engulfing multiple structures before it was brought under control.

Four of the affected households belong to Gujjar families, while two belong to Kashmiri families, all of whom are reported to be from economically weaker backgrounds.

The fire caused extensive damage, reducing the houses to rubble and leaving the occupants without shelter.

The cause of the fire could not be ascertained.

Authorities are assessing the damage, while locals have sought immediate assistance and relief for the affected families.

The incident has triggered concern in the area, with calls for urgent rehabilitation support for those who have lost their homes. [KNT]
