Police Constable Declared Dead After Being Shifted to SMHS Hospital

Srinagar, July 1, KNT: A police constable was declared brought dead at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, after being referred from the Police Hospital during the intervening night, officials said on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Selection Grade Constable (SgCt) Prem Chand, of Jammu Kashmir Armed Police.

Hospital sources said the policeman was brought to SMHS Hospital in an unconscious condition, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

The circumstances leading to his death were not immediately known. Police are ascertaining the cause of death, while further details are awaited. [KNT]
