Tourist from Punjab Dies in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 5, KNT: A 52-year-old tourist from Punjab was brought dead to SMHS Hospital in Srinagar on Sunday, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Satnam Singh, son of Piyara Singh, a resident of Amritsar, Punjab.

Officials said Satnam Singh, who was temporarily staying at his friend’s rented accommodation in Alochi Bagh area of Srinagar’s uptown was shifted to SMHS Hospital after he was found unconscious. However, doctors at the hospital declared him brought dead.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated legal proceedings to ascertain the cause of death.
