Jammu, April 5, KNT: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Sunday trapped and arrested a Junior Engineer of the Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (JPDCL) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹75,000 in the Gandhi Nagar area of Jammu.
The arrest followed a complaint alleging that the official had demanded a total bribe of ₹1.5 lakh from a party in connection with official work. Acting on the complaint, ACB laid a trap and caught the engineer red-handed while accepting part payment of ₹75,000.
Officials said the trap was executed in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, where the accused was apprehended on the spot during the transaction. The bribe amount was recovered from his possession in the presence of independent witnesses, confirming the acceptance.
