Srinagar, April 5, KNT: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has reported that ₹34,917 crore remained unspent in Jammu and Kashmir’s budget, pointing to gaps in financial management.

The finding, part of audit reports tabled in the Assembly, highlights that a substantial portion of allocated funds was neither utilized nor surrendered.

The audit noted that multiple departments recorded significant savings, indicating deficiencies in expenditure planning and execution.

The findings suggest inefficiencies in fund utilization and underline the need for improved financial oversight. [KNT]
