Bukhari Accuses Mehbooba Mufti of Harming Livelihoods in Srinagar

Srinagar, April 2, KNT: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari on Thursday accused former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti of policies that he said adversely affected livelihoods in Srinagar.

Speaking to reporters, Bukhari alleged that several decisions taken during her tenure had disrupted economic activity in key areas of the city.

He referred to the shifting of the Batamaloo bus stand to Parimpora and restrictions on quarrying at Panta Chowk, saying these measures impacted shopkeepers and workers.

Bukhari also alleged that development initiatives in Srinagar were opposed.

“She wanted everything to be shifted to Bijbehara. If she had the power, she would even shift the Secretariat there,” he said.

He said the proposed flyover from Rajbagh to Sangarmal was a positive development and claimed that earlier plans for such infrastructure had faced delays.
