Jammu, March 31, KNT: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday expressed surprise over the reported withdrawal of security at Nawa-e-Subh, the headquarters of the National Conference in Srinagar, saying he had not been informed about the decision.
Speaking to the reporters in Jammu, Omar Abdullah said the development was unexpected, particularly given the recent attack on Farooq Abdullah.
“Barely a week has passed since the attack on Farooq Abdullah and the security has been withdrawn,” he said.
He said Farooq Abdullah visits the Nawa-e-Subh office regularly, underlining the need for appropriate security arrangements.
“Farooq Sahib visits this office once or twice a week,” the Chief Minister said.
Abdullah said he had not received any official communication regarding the withdrawal of security.
“I have not been informed. I hope to get clarity from the administration,” he said. [KNT]
