Constable’s death mourned in Shopian, guard of honour paid at funeral

Shopian, March 31, KNT: Constable Aashiq Hussain Dar, who was injured in an accidental firing incident at District Police Lines Shopian, has succumbed to his injuries at SKIMS Srinagar, officials said.

The incident had occurred at DPL Shopian, where the constable sustained injuries in accidental firing, officials said.

Police said the deceased is survived by his wife, parents and a child.

Police said senior officers, including the Senior Superintendent of Police Additional Superintendent of Police and Deputy Superintendent of Police Headquarters, attended the funeral.

A guard of honour was presented to the deceased during the last rites, officials said. [KNT]
