Srinagar, May 12, KNT: Police apprehended two persons during naka checking at Babadem in Srinagar and recovered a pistol, ammunition and Lashkar-e-Taiba posters from their possession, officials said.
The accused were identified as Faisal Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Malpora Habbakadal Srinagar, and Faisal Ahmad Guroo, a resident of Rajouri Kadal Srinagar.
Officials said the duo was intercepted while riding a motorcycle during routine naka checking by Police party from M R Gunj.
During search, police recovered one pistol, three magazines, 21 live rounds, two mobile phones and 10 posters of Lashkar-e-Taiba from their possession.
Following the recovery, police registered FIR No. 26/2025 under sections 13, 18 and 23 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Section 7/25 of the Arms Act at Police Station M R Gunj.
The accused were taken into custody and further investigation into the case has been initiated.
Officials said efforts were underway to ascertain the source of the recovered weapon and the intended use of the posters and ammunition.
