Devyani Rana Advocates Prevention, Treatment, Rehabilitation Approach Ahead of Anti-Drug Bill

Jammu, March 28, KNT: An anti-drug bill is set to be introduced in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, with BJP MLA from Nagrota Devyani Rana on Saturday calling for a comprehensive strategy to tackle the growing menace of drug abuse.
The proposed legislation comes amid rising concern over substance abuse among youth in the Union Territory, prompting lawmakers to push for stronger preventive and corrective measures.
Speaking in support of the bill, Rana emphasised the need for a three-pronged approach to effectively address the issue.
“The first focus should be on those who are not addicted, by creating awareness about the ill effects of drugs,” she said, stressing preventive education as a key pillar.
