Budgam, July 18, KNT: In a major escalation of its campaign against narcotics, the District Administration Budgam, in coordination with District Police Budgam, on Saturday demolished three illegally constructed properties allegedly belonging to drug peddlers in the Magam sub-division.

The action is part of the district’s sustained drive to dismantle illegal infrastructure and assets allegedly linked to narcotics-related activities and send a strong message against drug trafficking.

The joint demolition drive was carried out in the Chairya and Mazhama areas under the supervision of revenue and police officials. Authorities said the operation was conducted peacefully amid adequate security arrangements.

During the drive, officials demolished three illegal structures comprising four shops and unauthorized fencing that had allegedly been raised on government land.

Officials said the crackdown reflects the administration’s resolve to act decisively against individuals involved in drug peddling by targeting properties and assets found to have been constructed or occupied in violation of the law.

The District Administration and Police reiterated their commitment to intensifying the fight against the drug menace, stating that similar enforcement drives will continue across Budgam to curb narcotics trafficking and protect public interest. [KNT]
