Srinagar, April 7, KNT: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has placed Manzoor Ahmad Dar, In-charge Executive Engineer in Jal Shakti (PHE) Mechanical Division South Awantipora, under suspension following his detention by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in a bribery case, according to an official order.
The suspension has been made effective from March 28, 2026, the date on which the officer was detained by the ACB, in terms of Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.
The order stated that the action was taken consequent upon his detention, and he shall be deemed to have been placed under suspension from the said date.
During the suspension period, the officer will remain attached to the office of the Chief Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Kashmir, and will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per rules.

The government order was issued by the Jal Shakti Department from the Civil Secretariat and signed by Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) Shaleen Kabra.
Notably, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) had trapped a Public Health Engineering (PHE) Mechanical Engineer, Manzoor Ahmad while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000 in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on March 28 last month. [KNT]
