Families Face Hardship After Water, Mud Inundate Homes in North Kashmir’s Bandipora

Bandipora, May 21, KNT: Heavy rainfall caused extensive damage to a road near Darul Uloom Rahimiya in Bandipora district, while water and mud entered nearby houses, affecting several families and disrupting normal life in the area.

According to local reports, the persistent rainfall damaged sections of the road near the seminary, making travel difficult and raising concerns about public safety.

The downpour also led to waterlogging and mud accumulation inside nearby homes, leaving affected families struggling to protect household belongings and manage the aftermath.

People in the locality said rainwater mixed with mud entered residential houses, causing damage and distress.

The incident triggered concern as families attempted to clear mud and drain water from their homes amid continuing wet conditions.

The damaged road further added to difficulties by affecting local movement and access in the area.

Those affected appealed to the concerned authorities to immediately restore the damaged road and take measures to prevent further flooding and water ingress into residential houses. [KNT]
