Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 128 runs through the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern (DLS) method in a rain-curtailed second One Day International in Mirpur on Friday, levelling the three-match series at 1–1 ahead of the decider.
Chasing a revised target of 243 after rain interrupted play, Bangladesh were bowled out for 114 in 23.3 overs at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka.
Pakistan’s bowling attack dominated the innings, with Maaz Sadaqat and Haris Rauf claiming three wickets each to dismantle the Bangladesh batting line-up.
Earlier, Pakistan had posted 274 in 47.3 overs after being asked to bat first.
Openers Maaz Sadaqat and Sahibzada Farhan provided a solid start, stitching together a strong partnership at the top of the order.
Maaz played an aggressive knock of 75 off 46 balls, setting the tone for Pakistan’s innings.
Salman Agha also contributed significantly with a composed 64 off 62 deliveries, stabilising the innings during the middle overs.
Mohammad Rizwan added 44 runs, while Sahibzada Farhan chipped in with 31 at the top of the order.
For Bangladesh, Rishad Hossain was the most successful bowler, picking up three wickets, while captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz claimed two.
Despite the revised target, Bangladesh struggled against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack and were unable to build partnerships during the chase.
Pakistan’s bowlers maintained consistent pressure, taking wickets at regular intervals to restrict the hosts to a modest total.
With the victory, Pakistan levelled the three-match ODI series 1–1, setting up a decisive third match scheduled for Sunday.
The second ODI was played at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Dhaka. [KNT]
