Police Chief Calls for Intelligence-Based Operations to Maintain Peace

Awantipora, March 8, KNT: Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir Nalin Prabhat on Saturday chaired a review meeting to assess the overall security situation, counter-militancy operations and law and order scenario in Police District Awantipora.
During the meeting, the DGP conducted a detailed review of the prevailing security environment with a focus on ongoing counter-militancy operations, including both kinetic and non-kinetic measures being undertaken by the police.
Officials said the meeting also reviewed the steps being taken to curb drug abuse and other criminal activities across the police district.
The DGP emphasized the need to further intensify action against anti-national elements, drug trafficking and crime, directing officers to take strict measures against those involved in unlawful activities.
He urged officers to remain vigilant, disciplined and proactive in their respective areas of responsibility to ensure effective policing.
Prabhat also stressed the importance of strong coordination among different security agencies and the need to rely on intelligence-based operations to maintain peace and stability in the region.
He appreciated the efforts of officers and personnel deployed in the district and asked them to remain alert and mission-oriented while carrying out their duties.
The DGP was accompanied by Special Director General of Police Coordination PHQ J&K Syed Javid Mujtaba Gillani, Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone V.K. Birdi and Deputy Inspector General of Police South Kashmir Range Javid Iqbal Matoo.
The meeting was attended by senior officers including Senior Superintendent of Police Awantipora, Additional Superintendent of Police Awantipora, all Sub-Divisional Police Officers and Deputy Superintendents of Police of Special Operations Groups. [KNT]
