Indian Army Pays Tribute to Soldier Who Died During Duty in Poonch’s Krishna Ghati Sector

Poonch, March 16, KNT: An Indian Army soldier died after he was found unconscious while performing operational duty along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, officials said.
The soldier, identified as Naik Tilak Singh, was deployed in the Krishna Ghati sector when he was discovered in an unconscious condition on Saturday, during duty along the LoC.
Officials said fellow personnel immediately rushed him for medical assistance. However, despite prompt medical attention, doctors could not revive him.
The Army’s White Knight Corps later confirmed the soldier’s death and paid tribute to him, describing him as a dedicated serviceman who died in the line of duty.
In a statement posted on social media, the White Knight Corps said it paid tribute to the soldier and acknowledged his service to the nation.
“White Knight Corps pays tribute to Braveheart Naik Tilak Singh, who was found unconscious while performing duty on the Line of Control in Krishna Ghati sector on March 15, 2026. Despite immediate medical assistance, he could not be revived,” the Corps said.
Military officials said the soldier had been deployed in the forward area as part of routine operational duties along the LoC.
The Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district remains one of the sensitive stretches of the LoC, witnessing frequent troop deployment, patrols and operational activities due to its proximity to the ceasefire line dividing Indian and Pakistani controlled territories.
Earlier this week, another Army personnel lost his life during an operation in the same district.
Officials said that on March 14, Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) Sandeep Kumar died after slipping from a height in rugged terrain in the Sarankote area of Poonch district during an ongoing operation.
According to officials, the officer lost his footing while navigating the steep terrain and suffered fatal injuries. [KNT]
