ITBP Chief Reviews Security Preparedness on Baltal, Pahalgam Axes

Srinagar, July 4, KNT: Director General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Shatrujeet Kapur, on Saturday undertook a 16-kilometre trek to review the security arrangements along both the Baltal and Pahalgam axes of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra.

During the visit, the ITBP chief assessed the security grid and operational preparedness of the force deployed along the twin pilgrimage routes to ensure the smooth conduct of the annual yatra.

Kapur interacted with officers and jawans deployed in the high-altitude areas and commended them for their professionalism, dedication and commitment in ensuring a safe, secure and seamless pilgrimage for devotees.

The Director General also reviewed the deployment, logistics and overall preparedness of the force, while appreciating the personnel for performing their duties under challenging terrain and weather conditions.

The ITBP is among the key security forces deployed for the annual Amarnath Yatra, working in coordination with other security agencies to safeguard pilgrims along the twin routes. [KNT]
