J&K Bank Employee From South Kashmir Dies After Fall From Building in Gurugram

Srinagar, May 17, KNT: A Jammu and Kashmir Bank employee from Seer Hamdan in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district died after reportedly falling from Tower 7 in Gurugram, officials and local sources said on Sunday.

Sources identified the deceased as John Aadil Khan, a resident of Seer Hamdan, presently posted at the Jammu and Kashmir Bank Branch at Navin Shahdara in Delhi.

Sources told the news agency Kashmir News Trust the bank employee fell into the shaft of the building under circumstances that were not immediately clear. He was shifted to a hospital following the incident, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Authorities in Gurugram are expected to initiate legal proceedings and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Meanwhile, Delhi-based health activist Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan expressed grief over the death and urged the authorities to facilitate the earliest possible transportation of the mortal remains to Srinagar so that the family can perform the last rites.

The incident has caused shock among relatives, colleagues, and residents of the Seer Hamdan area. [KNT]
