Kashmir Leaders Condemn US, Israel Strikes on Iran

Srinagar, Feb 28, KNT: Prominent political and religious leaders from Kashmir on Saturday strongly reacted to the reported United States and Israeli military strikes on Iran, condemning the escalation and calling for restraint.
Senior cleric Aga Syed Hassan Mosavi termed the attack a dangerous development and described it as a violation of international law and the principles of sovereignty. In a statement shared on social media, he said such actions risk further destabilising a region already facing multiple conflicts and urged the global community to prevent further escalation.
Meanwhile, Member of Parliament Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi criticised the military action, stating that global powers should not assume unilateral authority over sovereign nations. He called upon India’s External Affairs Minister to ensure the safety and security of Kashmiris currently in Iran and to facilitate their evacuation through available channels if required.
Mehdi also appealed for protection of civilian lives and emphasised the need for diplomatic engagement to de-escalate tensions. Both leaders underscored concerns about the widening conflict and its humanitarian implications. [KNT]
