Kulgam, April 8, KNT: A joint inspection drive was conducted in the District Hospital area of Kulgam by the district administration, police, and the Drug Control Department to check irregularities in the sale of scheduled drugs.

The drive was carried out in pursuance of NCORD directives, with officials focusing on ensuring compliance with licensing conditions and preventing unauthorized sale of pharmaceutical preparations.

During the inspection, two medical shops were disallowed from operating after violations were found in license conditions. Officials said one shop was functioning without the presence of a qualified person, while another failed to maintain proper records.

In addition, two other medical shops were issued warnings and directed to make their CCTV cameras functional in line with regulatory requirements.

The operation forms part of ongoing efforts by the Drug Control Department to bring transparency and accountability in the sale and purchase of medicines.

The drive was conducted under the supervision of Drug Inspector Mustafa Kamal, Tehsildar Kulgam Nisar Ahmad Wani, and SHO Kulgam Kushab Michael.

Officials said such inspections will continue as part of enforcement measures aimed at ensuring adherence to rules governing pharmaceutical practices. [KNT]
