Man Dies After Allegedly Suffering Electric Shock in Beerwah’s Gundipora

Budgam, July 19, KNT: A man lost his life after allegedly suffering an electric shock in Gundipora area of Beerwah in central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Nazir Ahmad Wani, son of Abdul Samad Wani, a resident of Gundipora, Beerwah.

Local sources informed the news agency Kashmir News Trust that the incident occurred near a brick kiln where a low-tension (LT) power line was reportedly passing through the area. Nazir Ahmad Wani allegedly came into contact with the live wire and sustained a severe electric shock.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by local residents. However, doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.

Nazir Ahmad Wani is survived by his wife and two children.

The exact circumstances leading to the incident are yet to be officially ascertained. Authorities are expected to investigate the matter. [KNT]
