Kupwara, May 24, KNT: A severe hailstorm swept through Lolab Valley in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Sunday, leaving massive hail accumulation on roads and disrupting movement in several areas.

Nearly two inches of hail covered multiple road stretches following the storm, creating slippery conditions and making vehicular movement difficult.

Locals said vehicles struggled to move through the affected areas as hail remained accumulated on roads after the intense weather spell.

The sudden storm transformed several stretches into white icy patches, forcing motorists to drive cautiously and slowing traffic movement.

Local inhabitants said the hailstorm was accompanied by strong winds and intense weather conditions, though no immediate reports of injuries or major damage were received.

The weather event drew attention from locals and commuters as hail accumulation remained visible across parts of the valley. [KNT]
