Baramulla, April 8, KNT: Chinar YUVA Centre in Baramulla hosted a two-day Mega Job Fair 2026 on April 7 and 8, aimed at connecting job seekers with employers across multiple sectors, including IT, hospitality, automobile, insurance, retail, and allied fields.
The event witnessed participation of over 3,000 aspirants, marking a 60 percent increase compared to the previous year, while approximately 1,100 vacancies were offered, reflecting a similar year-on-year growth.
The job fair aligned candidate aspirations with available opportunities, particularly in sectors such as hospitality, retail, automobiles, and related industries.
Participating employers included Flipkart, Swiggy, Blinkit, LG, Ather, Amazon, Raymond, PhonePe, Hotel Sarovar Portico, Hotel Khyber, Myntra, Honda, Bajaj, and SBI Life, among others.
The recruitment process included both physical and online interviews, with at least ten companies conducting virtual interactions. This was followed by shortlisting and selection procedures based on employer requirements.
In addition to recruitment, representatives from the District Employment and Counselling Centre provided career guidance, focusing on industry trends and skill development under the Mission YUVA scheme.
Officials said the initiative aims to enhance employability by linking youth with industry requirements while also promoting awareness about evolving job markets.
Chinar YUVA Centre is also set to introduce new courses in agro-entrepreneurship, aimed at encouraging self-employment and expanding livelihood opportunities for youth in the region.
The programme reflects continued efforts to promote skill development, employment generation, and structured engagement with youth as part of broader outreach initiatives. [KNT]
