New Delhi, July 29, KNT: National Conference Member of Parliament Mian Altaf Ahmad on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on the BJP-led Central Government in the Lok Sabha, accusing it of weakening the country’s education system and failing to effectively implement existing laws.

Participating in the debate, the Anantnag-Rajouri MP said the focus should be on the strict enforcement of existing laws rather than repeatedly introducing new amendments and legislation.

“You destroyed everything, but it is too late,” Mian Altaf remarked while criticizing the government’s handling of the education sector.

He argued that timely action by the government could have prevented the present situation, asserting that stronger implementation of laws in the past would have averted many of the challenges now confronting the country.

The National Conference leader also questioned the performance of Union Ministers, saying those elected in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi should introspect and evaluate their own performance.

Claiming that their performance was “at the bottom,” Mian Altaf said public representatives must be judged by their work rather than political slogans.

His remarks came during a heated discussion in the Lok Sabha, triggering exchanges between treasury and opposition benches. [KNT]
