Ganderbal, April 1, KNT: One militant has been killed in an ongoing anti-militancy operation in the Arahama area of Ganderbal district, the Army said on Wednesday.

The encounter is still in progress, with security forces continuing search operations in the area, officials said.

Officials said a joint team of the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in Arahama after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of militants in the area.

As the forces zeroed in on the suspected location, militants opened fire, triggering an encounter, officials said, adding that the forces retaliated.
