Motorcyclist Dies, Two Others Sustain Critical Injuries in Poonch Road Accident
Poonch, June 16, KNT: One person was killed and two others sustained serious injuries after a motorcycle skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge in the Dhana Dohian Sathara area of Poonch district on Tuesday morning.
Officials said the accident occurred when a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CJ-6108 met with an accident under circumstances that are being investigated.
The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Azam (35), a resident of Islamabad area of Poonch district.
Two other occupants of the motorcycle, identified as Mohammad Arif (22) and Noor Mohammad (50), sustained critical injuries in the accident and were shifted to District Hospital Poonch for treatment.
Officials said rescue efforts were launched immediately after the accident was reported, and the injured were evacuated from the gorge and taken to hospital.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated proceedings to ascertain the exact circumstances that led to the accident. [KNT]
