Anantnag Police Destroy Over 308 kg of Seized Narcotics

Anantnag, July 6, KNT: In a major anti-narcotics initiative, Anantnag Police on Monday destroyed more than 308 kilograms of seized contraband, including Charas, Ganja, Poppy Straw and Heroin, at the incineration facility located in the Lassipora Industrial Estate in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The destruction of the narcotics was carried out after completing all legal formalities and in accordance with the orders of the competent courts and prescribed procedures.

Police said the destroyed contraband had been seized in connection with various cases registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act in Anantnag district during sustained anti-drug operations.

The exercise was conducted under the supervision of the designated committee constituted for the disposal of narcotic substances, ensuring transparency and adherence to legal norms. [KNT]
