Jammu, Sep 15, KNT: Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma visited forward areas of the Akhnoor sector and reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational readiness of Army units deployed in the area, officials said.

During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma was briefed on the security dynamics and preparedness of formations and units operating in the forward areas.

He also interacted with personnel deployed at forward positions and reviewed their readiness to respond to emerging security situations.

The visit comes amid continued focus on preparedness in forward areas of the Jammu region. Lt Gen Sharma has undertaken similar reviews in different sectors of Jammu and Kashmir in recent months.

The Army Commander appreciated the personnel for their dedication and commitment and called upon all ranks to maintain vigilance, responsiveness and operational preparedness.

The Northern Command said the Army Commander also stressed the need for continued improvement in operational capability and readiness. [KNT]
